Kevin McCarty

Kevin McCarty, born on August 8, 1984, passed away on July 28, 2025. A dedicated and passionate individual, Kevin's journey through life was marked by both his professional accomplishments and personal growth.

At the young age of 20, Kevin began his culinary career as a sous-chef, a pursuit that ignited a profound love for cooking and food preparation. Over the span of eleven years, he showcased his talents in seven different restaurants across the Astoria and Portland areas.

In his early thirties, Kevin made a significant move to Portland where he took on a role at Pacific Foods. Over the years, he occupied various positions within the company, contributing to its success until the time of his passing. 

Kevin was educated in Stockton, where he attended grammar school until 1996. He then moved with his family to Pendleton, Oregon, where he graduated from high school. His academic journey continued at Mt Hood Community College for one year, where he studied fisheries management, showcasing his diverse interests and aspirations.

At the time of his death, Kevin was planning a move back to the Astoria area, eager to explore new employment opportunities and continue his professional journey. His ambition and desire for growth defined his character and will be remembered fondly by those who knew him.

Kevin will be honored with a funeral service at Our Lady Of Victory Catholic Church in Seaside, Oregon on August 6, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery in Astoria at 11:45 AM. The community is invited to join in celebrating Kevin's life, reflecting on the impact he made through his work and the warmth he shared with those around him.

Kevin McCarty's legacy lives on through the love he had for his profession, his pursuit of knowledge, and the memories cherished by those who were fortunate to know him. His presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
