David W. Cameron passed away on April 18, 2013, at Knappa, Oregon.

David was born to Enos (Bud) and Glenda Cameron at Mabton, Washington, on March 5th, 1958. He was 55.

David is survived by his companion of 13 years, Linda Cairns of Knappa, Oregon. Son Elliot Mandeville, Melinda Cairns, Christina Miller (Nick), Billie Cairns (Larry) and Jennifer Lansaw (Andrew) of Kansas. They have 6 grandchildren.

David was quick with a smile, quick with a joke, kind and generous to a fault. He loved his pets Shadow, Sassy and Precious, they accompanied him on scouting trips for deer and elk.

David was passionate about hunting and fishing. His goal was to bag a 7 point elk and to catch a record-setting fish.

David was a member of the Knappa Gun Club.

David wants to thank his community of friends and family for all you’ve done and the special memories you created with him. David kept his sense of humor and quick smile as he fought the fight and took each day as it came.

Thank you to the Lower Columbia Hospice team for your support and care during my illness.

Poem by Natalie Keller

Walk with me to the water, when it comes my time.

What we say will not matter, just keep your hand in mine.

I’ll cross the water by myself, I know that’s what I must do.

But the chilling sting won’t be felt, because I’ve walked with you.
