Jean Brown, 78, of Seaside, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, in Seaside.
She was born Feb. 12, 1934, in Seaside, to Carl Emmett and Gretchen (Davier) Brown.
Raised in Seaside, she graduated from Seaside High School in 1954.
Ms. Brown worked at a variety of places, including Ramey’s Market, Holladay Cleaners, Bumble Bee Cannery in Astoria, and the Seaside Aquarium.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 33 years, and served in many capacities.
Family members said she was always willing to help others. Her hobbies included making artificial floral arrangements and corsages. For many years she made the poppies that the American Legion sold. She walked everywhere at a speed-walker’s pace.
She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Dick and Marlene Brown of Walnut, Calif.; a niece, Kelly Florentine of San Dimas, Calif.; two great-nephews, Christopher and Nicholas Florentine of San Dimas; and an aunt, Grace Brown of Seaside.
At Ms. Brown’s request, there will be no service.
