Gertrude M. Anglim, 99, of Astoria, died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, in Seaside.
She was born Aug. 6, 1913, in Rigby, Idaho, to Henry Erich Seibolt and Mary (Kirks) Eggers.
She graduated from high school in Portland, then attended nursing school in Chicago and became a registered nurse.
From Nov. 11, 1943 to Jan. 30, 1946, she served in the U.S. Army in New Guinea.
In 1953, she married Robert Anglim. He preceded her in death in 1980. The couple met when she was working in Guam.
After her term in the service, Mrs. Englim worked as a registered nurse in various cities. Later, she and her husband moved to San Diego, then to Lincoln City when they retired. In 1993, she moved to Astoria, and had resided here since.
She attended First United Methodist Church in Astoria.
Family members said her hobbies were reading and taking walks.
She is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Lindstrom of Astoria and Elsie Imm of Blue Earth, Minn.; and a brother, Erich Eggers of Delaware, Ohio.
Mrs. Anglim requested that there be no service. Burial will be private.
